Growing perfect peonies is equal parts art and science. Our growers are in a league of their own when it comes to raw talent, creativity and craftmanship. They make sure the soil is in perfect condition, the plant is well protected against disease, and prune excess branches to make space for bigger, stronger peonies in the future.
Freshly cut at the right time, hand picked with care
Harvesting needs to be done at exactly the right time. Too early means the flowers might not fully open, too late means the peonies won’t last. During the harvest our master growers are in the field non-stop. It’s done by hand; peonies are too delicate to be handled by machines, meaning each flower is hand-picked. Many of the growers in My Peony Society are family businesses, and during harvest often the entire family helps out!
Next level quality control, by perfectionists
We’re perfectionists by nature. Since it’s in all of our best interest to raise our standard, our growers check each others harvest. All peonies are centrally processed, scrutinized by our most picky professionals, and prepared for transport.
The shortest route to a vase near you
Directly after harvest the flowers are cooled down to a temperature of 1 degree celsius, so that they remain in pristine condition. Flowers are separated by length, maturity and overall quality. They are taken to My Peony Society’s central warehouses, and from there they go on to florists, wolesalers and tranders around the world. On their way to a vase near you!
