It’s also the home of Borst Flowers, a peony nursery owned by Joost.

A nursery driven by passion and craftsmanship

Joost Borst is the proud owner of Borst Flowers, where he is fully dedicated to cultivating peonies of the highest quality. On 15 hectares of land, he grows more than 25 unique peony varieties, with exclusivity and craftsmanship always being the top priorities. Joost constantly seeks new, distinctive varieties to offer his customers something special. For some varieties, Borst Flowers is even the sole provider on the market, highlighting his pioneering spirit and commitment to innovation.

Quality in every detail

Joost Borst has a keen eye for the market and knows exactly which qualities are important for both growers and consumers. Stem quality, uniform flower maturity, and perfect bud presentation are all key elements that he prioritizes. This attention to detail is also reflected in the harvesting process: to ensure that each flower is harvested at the perfect moment, Joost makes multiple passes through his fields, only cutting flowers that are precisely ripe. This carefully planned process can take seven to ten days, ensuring that the flowers are consistently of the highest quality.

The assortment of Borst Flowers is carefully chosen to offer a spread of bloom times, from early to late varieties. This means customers can enjoy beautiful peonies throughout the entire season.
