Chilean beauty with international flair
Pilauco Peonies is well known among peony lovers in the US and Canada; the nursery in the Chilean region of Osorno, run by the Engler family since 1872, enjoys a worldwide fanbase. And now, together with My Peony Society, Pilauco may also conquer Europe and the rest of the world!
Everything Pilauco does, from cultivation to distribution, displays their unrivaled passion for peonies. Cultivation takes place in three nurseries spread over the length of Chile. Thanks to the various climate zones, the season can be prolongued. The Chilean peony season runs from mid-October to the end of December, but Pilauco can – thanks to ever better cooling – deliver fresh flowers mid-January.
The Wories family (Karsten Agricultures) has been participating in Pilauco Peonies since 2018. Marcel and Koos Wories will use their knowledge and energy in order to improve cultivation, and to add new products to the line-up. The possibilities are endless!
With over 27 different varieties, Pilauco has the most extensive assortment of all Chilean peony growers. Here you’ll find Boule de Neige, Duchesse de Nemours, Festiva Maxima, Gardenia, Immacule, Lillian Wild, Mother’s Choice, Shirley Temple, Pecher, Raspberry Sundae, Sarah Bernhardt, Dr. Alexander Fleming, Gilbert Barthelot, Monsieur Jules Elie, Kansas, Karl Rosenfield, Red Sarah Bernhardt, Adolphe Rousseau, Big Ben, Buckeye Belle, Henry Bockstoce, Inspector Lavergne, Red Charm, Coral Charm, Coral Sunset and Bartzella.
Famous in Chile
With great pride we welcome Pilauco Peonies to My Peony Society. We can’t wait to see Pilauco, already famous in the US and Canada, also reach great heights in Europe. We hope a lot more people will enjoy the Chilean peony splendour!
